Meteorologists estimate that there have already been 250 reported tornadoes in the month of April, and with five days left, that pace could break the record of 267 tornadoes in April of 1974. Last Friday night, a tornado ripped off a large port6ion of the terminal roof at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, last night another tornado practially wiped the small town of Vilonia, Arkansas off the map, and severe flooding has submerged several towns in Missouri, Arkansas, and other states in the mid-South.
You never know when a major storm could strike close to home, so every family should be prepared. Always heed broadcast warnings and seek shelter when a tornado warning has been issued for your area.
